L’américain William Ryan Fritch choisit l’Olympic Café pour sa première tournée européenne, dans le cadre de la promotion de son dernier album Revisionist, sur le label Lost Tribe Sound :
« Revisionist, the latest record from composer William Ryan Fritch (Vieo Abiungo), brings an emphatic close to his incredibly prolific 2014. Just a few months after the release of Death Blues’ Ensemble—his powerhouse collaboration with drummer and new music ringleader Jon Mueller—Fritch has produced his most focused and dynamic work yet. Energized by the collaboration with Mueller (Volcano Choir), the otherwise self-sufficient multi-instrumentalist surrendered his auterist sensibilities, seeking creative alliances with Benoit Pioulard, D.M. Stith, Origamibiro and Esme Patterson. The results are scintillating. From the elegant minimalism of “Winds” (produced by Pioulard) or the exultant vocals of “Gloaming Light” (performed by D.M. Stith), these inspired partnerships take Fritch’s instrumentation and craft to new destinations, employ new techniques, and further it’s immediacy and appeal. » Alan Ranta, Exclaim! Magazine and PopMatters.

L’anglais Andy Cartwright viendra jouer une nouvelle fois à Paris après sa tournée française de juin dernier, pour la promotion de son album They Haunted Most Thickly sur le label Bookmaker Records :
«Andy Cartwright has been making solo guitar music as Seabuckthorn for several years and delivers his sixth album (third for Bookmaker Records) with They Haunted Most Thickly. You might think that there are enough solo guitarists already, but Cartwright is able to construct a pretty particular sound which makes him stand head and shoulders above the competition. Typical features of the man's music: resounding folk guitars wrapped in psychedelic echoes, some stray ethnic percussion, understated melodies that pursue timelessness, and, cliché or not, atmospheric work reminiscent of restless rolling waves. (…) A better comparison is the work of Grails at the time of their classic Burning Off Impurities, though without the post-rock climaxes. Or the film music of the composer Gustavo Santaolalla. The way the high pulsing triplets in opener "Eve Of The Rains" are pulled open by a compelling melody would be perfect for a Iñárritu movie. » Gowaart Van Den Bossche, Enola Magazine
