The Riverbreaks is an indie Americana band based in Washington, D.C. After forming in 2009, the band is set to release its second album, Wildfire, in fall 2012. The album was produced by Chris Stamey and recorded in Chapel Hill, NC.
Like the music, the band’s songs and lyrics reflect journeys and geographies, resulting in a sound that is uniquely Southern, yet globally influenced. Ryan, Jesse, and Andrew met at UNC Chapel Hill and released one album with their college band before taking a 3 year hiatus while Ryan lived in Costa Rica as a Peace Corps volunteer. Ryan returned with dozens of songs written in the Central American jungle and The Riverbreaks were born.
